Route 66

Route 66The 2,448-mile highway between Chicago and Santa Monica, California, is 83 years old this year.

Route 66 also inspired the 1946 song and 1960's TV show of the same name.

Plaques commemorate this celebrated route west at Chambless, Cajón Pass and Upland in San Bernardino County, and at its Pacific Palisades terminus in Santa Monica.
